Board lot size

1. The standard board lot size is 100 units. Under SGX's revised board lot framework, the board lot size for specified securities may be reduced based on their traded price:

Products Traded Price Board Lot Size
Stocks, REITs, DLCs, etc. ≤ S$10 100
> S$10 and ≤ S$100 10

ETF   1

The revised framework will be implemented progressively. From October 5, 2026, the board lot size for the initial 11 selected stocks will be reduced from 100 units to 10 units.

2.2 How will board lot sizes be determined going forward?

Under the revised board lot framework, the applicable board lot size for specified securities will be determined based on their traded price:

Traded Price* New Board Lot
Up to and including S$10 (or equivalent traded currency threshold) Existing board lot size (no change)
>S$10 to ≤S$100 10 units
>S$100 1 unit

The changes will apply to ordinary shares, REITs, business trusts, and company warrants.

*The S$10 and S$100 thresholds will be adjusted based on the currency in which the security is traded. For example, USD-traded securities will use US$10 and US$100. If a security trades in more than one currency, its main trading currency will be used.

2.3 Why is the board lot size being reduced?

The change lowers the minimum number of units required to trade selected higher-priced securities. This means investors may be able to invest in these securities with a lower upfront amount and have greater flexibility in managing their investments.

2.4 Which types of securities are covered by the revised board lot framework?

The revised board lot framework applies to specified Singapore-listed securities including ordinary shares, REITs, business trusts, and company warrants.

2.5 If a security's price subsequently falls, will its board lot size change back to 100 units?

No. Once the board lot size for a particular security has been reduced, it will remain at the lower board lot size even if its price subsequently falls below the applicable threshold.

2.6 How will the board lot size be determined for securities traded in different currencies?

The applicable price threshold will be based on the security's traded currency. For example, SGD-traded securities will be assessed against S$10 and S$100, while USD-traded securities will be assessed against US$10 and US$100. If a security trades in more than one currency, its main trading currency will determine the applicable board lot size.

2.7 Will more securities have their board lot sizes reduced in the future?

Yes. Board lot sizes will be reviewed every calendar quarter. Securities that meet the applicable price threshold based on their daily closing prices over the relevant six-month observation period may qualify for a reduced board lot size. Please refer to the SGX website for more information.

Where a change is to be implemented, it will be announced within the first five trading days after the end of the relevant quarter, and will take effect within the first five trading days of the second month after that quarter.

Before the new board lot size takes effect, all pending orders for the affected SGX securities will be cancelled at the end of the previous trading day.

2.8 How can I check the current board lot size of a security?

The current board lot size is available on the relevant security's quotes page.

Alternatively, please refer to the SGX website for more details: https://www.sgx.com/stock-exchange/securities-prices

2.9 What will happen to my existing pending orders for the affected stocks?

All pending orders for the 11 affected stocks will be cancelled after the close of business on Friday, October 2, 2026, before the revised board lot size takes effect on October 5, 2026.

2.10 Will the stock code change?

No. The affected stock will continue to trade under its existing stock code. Only the applicable board lot size will change.

2.11 What happens to newly listed securities?

For new listings, securities priced above the applicable threshold will be assigned the reduced board lot size from their first day of listing.
