Q: Can I sell stocks on the same day I buy them?
A: Yes. Korean stocks support T+0 selling — you can sell shares bought on the same day.
Q: What is the minimum number of shares I can buy?
A: The minimum trading unit is 1 share, with no "board lot" restriction.
Q: What currency do I need to trade Korean stocks?
A: Korean Won (KRW). You must convert your account funds to KRW before trading Korean stocks.
Q: What is the daily price limit?
A: KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets have a ±30% price limit from the previous closing price.
Q: When are sale proceeds available after selling?
A: Korean stocks follow T+2 settlement. Sale proceeds are available for withdrawal after T+2, but can be used immediately (T+0) to purchase other Korean stocks.
Q: What are the fees for trading Korean stocks?
A: Commission 0.08% (min 2,000 KRW per order, charged on both buy and sell) + Platform fee 3,000 KRW per order (both directions) + Securities Transaction Tax 0.2% (sell only, KOSPI/KOSDAQ).
Q: What order types are supported?
A: Limit Order, Market Order, and 6 conditional order types (Stop Market, Stop Limit, Market if Touched, Limit if Touched, Trailing Stop Market, Trailing Stop Limit). Market orders and conditional orders are only available/triggered during continuous trading (09:00–15:20).
Q: Why was my order price automatically adjusted?
A: Korean stocks have minimum tick size requirements that vary by price range. The system will automatically adjust your order price to the nearest valid price.
Q: Can I trade on weekends or Korean public holidays?
A: No. Korean stocks are only traded on Korean business days. Pre-placed orders are not currently supported. Please submit orders manually during the pre-market session (starting from 08:30 KST) on trading days.
Q: What is the difference between KOSPI and KOSDAQ?
A: KOSPI is the main board with large blue-chip companies (e.g., Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix). KOSDAQ is the growth/tech board with small-to-mid cap growth companies. Trading rules are consistent across both. Sell-side transaction tax is 0.2% for both.
Q: What account types are supported?
A: Only comprehensive securities accounts (margin accounts). Cash accounts are not supported.
Q: Can I modify both price and quantity at the same time?
A: No. Each modification can only change one parameter (price or quantity), and quantity can only be reduced. To increase quantity, cancel the original order and place a new one.
Q: Which markets/products are supported?
A: KOSPI (main board) and KOSDAQ (growth board) common stocks. ETFs, ETNs, ELWs and other derivative products are not supported.
