How to start margin trading or short selling

1. How to identify if you are using margin trading

• Margin Trading: If your own cash are insufficient when making a purchase, margin trading will be automatically used.

• Start short selling ：Short sell by tapping Sell on the Trade page when you do not have a long position in a stock. 

2. How to assess the impact of margin trading on my account?

• When you engage in margin trading or trades options, you can refer to the moomoo CA trading preview feature. We calculate and provide the impact of your order on account assets, margin, purchasing power, remaining liquidity, etc., based on the current conditions and market situation.
• Please note:
  • If the remaining liquidity in the trading preview is less than 0, it indicates that your transaction may put you in a risky state. In this case, your order is highly likely to be rejected.
  • The purchasing power and maximum withdrawal displayed in the trading preview will be based on the minimum value, with a lowest possible value of 0. If your current order exceeds your maximum purchasing power, only the minimum value will be shown in the preview, and no negative values will appear. In this case, your order is highly likely to be rejected.
