Why is my order in “Pending Submit” status?

A “Pending Submit” status means that your order has not yet been submitted to the exchange. Common reasons include the applicable trading session not having begun or the conditions of a conditional order not yet being met. The system will automatically submit the order once the submission conditions are met.

1. How are pending orders handled?

The system automatically determines when to submit the order based on the order type, time in force, pre-market/post-market settings, and trigger conditions. No action is required from you. You can check the current status in the order details.

2. When will an order remain in “Pending Submit” status?

Scenario

Expected submission time

Pre-set orders placed after the market closes

Queued for submission on the next trading day

Orders not allowed to fill outside RTH

When the continuous trading session begins

Conditional orders whose trigger conditions have not been met

Automatically submitted once the trigger conditions are met

Certain options placed outside trading hours

When the product's next available trading session begins

If a limit order is allowed to fill outside RTH and is placed during the pre-market or post-market session, it will be submitted to the exchange immediately and will not remain in “Pending Submit” status due to session restrictions.

Some ETF and ETN options can trade until 4:15 p.m. ET. Please refer to the product page for specific trading hours.

3. Is a submitted order guaranteed to be filled?

No. Once submitted to the exchange, the order is still subject to market matching.

Actual execution depends on market liquidity, the order book, and the order price. Successful submission does not guarantee a full or partial fill.

4. What can I do if I want my order filled quickly?

If the order can still be cancelled, you may cancel it during the continuous trading session and place a new limit order at a price close to the current market price.

If you choose a market order, note that it does not guarantee an execution price. Market orders placed during the pre-market or post-market sessions may not be filled until the next continuous trading session. Actual execution prices may also differ from your expectations when liquidity is low or markets are volatile.
