1. What You Need to Open an Account
Before opening a Moomoo MY account, please prepare the required documents and information based on your nationality/identity. The entire account opening process is completed within the moomoo App and typically takes just a few minutes to fill in and submit your application.

Note: If your residential address matches the address on your IC, no proof of address is required.
2. Document Preparation Guide
2.1 Identity Document / Passport
• Malaysian Citizens / Malaysia Permanent Residents: Prepare your Malaysia Identity Card (MyKad / MyTentera / MyKAS / MyPR). You will need to capture photos of both the front and back during the application.
• Other Nationalities: Prepare your valid passport. You will need to capture a photo of the personal information page.
Note: Please ensure your document is within its validity period. Photos must be clear, complete, and free from glare or obstruction. It is recommended to photograph the document on a plain background under good lighting.
The following information will be required during the account opening process. We recommend preparing it in advance:
• Tax Identification Number (TIN) — You can check this on the LHDN MyTax portal (mytax.hasil.gov.my)
• Employment Status — Occupation type, employer name, industry
• Financial Status — Income details, source of funds
2.3 Proof of Address
Malaysian Citizens / Malaysia Permanent Residents whose residential address matches their IC address may skip this section.
Your proof of address must be a clear, legible, and unaltered document showing:
• Your full name
• Your residential address
• Date of issue
• Name or logo of the issuing authority

Note: The name on your proof of address must match the name on your identity document, and the address must be a Malaysian address.
