How to open account?

1. Overview

You may open an account entirely online via the moomoo App. The process involves registering a Moomoo ID, preparing identification documents, completing your personal details, and submitting the application. Account approval typically takes 1-3 working days.

Fill up and submit account application via the app.	Complete your personal details, upload ID photos, provide address/tax/employment information, and verify your identity via liveness detection.
Wait for approval	Applications are typically reviewed within 1-3 working days. If additional documents are required, you will be notified via email and the app.

Note: Applicants must be at least 18 years old. You may continue to browse market data and use the paper trading feature while your application is being reviewed.

Currently, clients aged 18 to 90 are eligible to open an account with Moomoo MY.

 

2.3 Required Documents for Account Opening

2.3.1 Malaysian Citizens / Malaysia Permanent Residents

• Malaysia ID Card

• Personal Information (such as Tax, Employment Status)

• Valid Proof of Address in Malaysia (Required only if the residential address you provide differs from the address shown on your Malaysian Identity Card. The address proof submitted must meet the requirements. Click here to view the specific address proof requirements.)

2.3.2 Other Nationalities

• Passport

• Personal Information (such as Tax, Employment Status)

3. Fill Up & Submit Account Application

3.3 Fill Up Residential Address & Upload Proof of Address

When opening an account with Moomoo MY, please refer to the following scenarios to determine whether a proof of address is required:

Note: The proof of address document you submit must be clear and legible, and must display the following 4 points of information:

Full Name	Must match the name entered in the account opening application
Residential Address	Must match the residential address entered in the application
Issuance Date	Government-issued ID/Pass, tenancy agreement: within validity period Utility bills, financial statements, other documents: issued within the last 3 months
Issuing Authority Name or Logo	Must be clearly visible

4. Processing Time For Account Opening
