Uncertified W-9 / W-8 BEN Form

Uncertified W-9 Form

For U.S. tax residents, if the name and tax identification number (TIN) you provide on the W-9 form do not match IRS records, moomoo is required to withhold income tax on reportable payments at a rate of 24%.
To certify your U.S. tax status, ensure that your Social Security Number (SSN) and name in your Account Profile match those on your Social Security Card and tax return.

Uncertified W-8 BEN Form

For non-U.S. tax residents, if you fail to provide a Form W-8 BEN or do not submit a new Form W-8 BEN when prompted upon the three-year expiration, we will withhold 30% U.S. tax on all reportable income payments (e.g., credit interest, cash dividends). Treaty rates, if applicable, will no longer apply without a valid Form W-8 BEN.
To certify your non-U.S. tax status, please follow the tax form renewal steps in your Account Profile by clicking [Update] in Tax Form section.
