How to place a basic order

Jul 9 18:23

If you wish to place an order to buy or sell a stock, there are two basic options.

In this passage, we'll go through:

  • How to place a limit order?

  • And how to place a market order?

Step 1

A limit order is buying or selling a stock at a specific price. To create a limit order, tap a stock in your watchlists to go to its Detailed Quotes page, then tap the 'Trade' button in the left-bottom corner.

Step 2

Select 'Buy' or 'Sell' and order type. Input the 'price' and the 'quantity' if you choose 'Limit order'.

A market order refers to buying or selling a stock at the current market price. Do note that you have no guarantee on the transaction price as your order may be filled at any price, as compared to a limit order. In most market conditions, a market order can be immediately executed.

If you want to place a market order, select 'Market order' and input the 'quantity' of shares.
