Bitcoin and a lot of the Altcions are showing some short-term bullishness. There is a daily bullish divergence and now BTC is ripping. Equity futures in US and overseas are not quite ripping with cryptocurrencies so this could be a false rally. How long will this uptick last? So do we go long here? Or wait for a good opportunity to go short?

Why, oh why, would I sell the dip if my company’s fundamentals are still good? If I liked the company before the dip, I most certainly would not be selling in a dip, especially when the entire market is down and the external negative catalysts exist that make it make sense. Ever since I have learned what is happening in a rip candle, speaking in time incriments of say 1-4 hrs, I typically avoid buying. I actually tend to look at puts when I see these.
I have made those mistakes and both are equally bad to accts because one inevitably leads to the other if sound planning isn't involved.
If you buy a stock while it's ripping, especially at the top, there is an almost certain selling the dip in your future, or a long hold.

The reason for buying the rip is better than selling the dip because you might never know the stocks with good potential will go up due to pump and dump or the market will actually do extremely well in the long term.

"Buy the rip" is a new terminology to me, I gather it's like dollar-cost-averaging on the way down, I feel this works for medium to long term investors. For normal humans, buying when stocks are cheap due to declining market comes hand-in-hand with some anxiety/fear. i used to be an entrepreneur, there is so much overhead and cost of goods involved, investing is so much simpler just riding on other's business. whenever there is a drop in price from invested price, i would treat it as overhead and cost of goods. thinking this way you can reap the rip and sip the dip.
