Dear customers,
The impact that fraud and scams can have on their victims is devastating. Moomoo NZ has been made aware of a recent scam asking members of the public to invest in cryptocurrency with 'moomoo' or 'Futu'.
Moomoo NZ users should be alert to receiving messages or calls claiming to be from moomoo or Futu, asking them to transfer or deposit funds or share any personal information. This includes communication via WhatsApp and Telegram.
Moomoo will never request personal customer details such as a password and any unsolicited contact requesting this type of information, or any contact requesting action involving the moving of funds. We will only contact you via email, local phone number or WhatsApp; our email address, phone number and WhatsApp handle can be found at the bottom of this email. If you receive communications from any other account claiming to be sent on behalf of moomoo, you should immediately report them and contact the police.
If a customer authorises a deposit or transfer of funds and believes they are a victim of a scam, they should immediately contact the police. If you believe your account details have been compromised, please contact us directly. We will immediately put a block on your account and will work with authorities to help you in any way we can.
Unfortunately, scammers are becoming more sophisticated, and we all need to be vigilant.
REMINDER: Should you ever receive communications from moomoo or Moomoo Securities Australia Ltd via phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp, or any other social media that you suspect to be spam, contact us immediately at 0800 886 800 or +64 9 872 6000.
