To understand better the reasons for market cap deviation, we should direct our attention straight to the individual elements that constitute the market cap value -> (Total share number & Price of each share).
Assuming the 3 companies in question all have the same share number, the company that has the largest market cap would most likely have the hightest price per share, and the company with the smallest market cap would most likely have the smallest price per share, which is seen below:
Boeing: (Market cap) $90.15B, (Share price) $151.82
Airbus: (Market cap) $77.94B, (Share price) $98.96
GM: (Market cap) $56.09B, (Share price) $38.47
Given that Boeing and Airbus are major players in the same industry, they are in direct competition with each other for market share. However, each has their own unique selling points (USP) and attend to different clients with different requirements. This could be a possible reason for Airbus, despite being the world's largest airline manufacturer, to fall behind Boeing in terms of market cap value.
GM has a sizable market cap of $56.09B, although smaller than that of Airbus and Boeing. This could be due to the number of competitors in the same space compared to the airline industry.
Comparing the two airline companies, Boeing could be in a better position to endure headwinds due to its business model of operating in 4 main areas instead of only 3 (Airbus).
Given that GM is a well-known and established company, it could continue to attract investors with its sound business model and be a company investors think of when it comes to diversifying their portfolio, in turn rasing the share price in future.

_tothemoon_ : I chose to invest in this stock as it serves a broad market base, mainly in the South East Asian region.  Another reason why I chose this company is because of it's share price. With each share being under a dollar, I can afford to have more shares in this company unlike other companies which prices per share is much higher.
My objective is to leave an open position for these shares, with the long term in mind. So essentially I am just going to continue buying this share :)

For Spirit Airlines, being a low cost carrier, it's main objective is to provide short haul (domestic) flights of not more than a few hours for each trip. It will have to compete in a highly competitive market offering the same product which is a seat on an airplane. This would indicate that their profit margins will be smaller than airline companies that offer medium and long haul flights, which tend to reap a higher profit margin. The understanding of the business model and what kind of market it operates in will hopefully provide an insight of what we are going to invest into.
Given energy prices are getting hotter, Spirit has to ensure that it's fuel hedging strategy will allow it to tide over challenging times when prices of fuel is surging.
Positive signs of potential growth include it's share price down -6.11% the past 1Y (meaning we are buying it at a discount from the same time last year). Also, given that borders have opened up and people are releasing their pent-up travel demand, Spirit Airline investors have good reason to be encouraged by the signs and developments of the recent travelling trends.
Potential investors can also consider investing in the airlines industry for diversification of their portfolio to reduce their unsystematic risk.
