Tokyo Chuo Auction Company (Tokyo Chuo Auction) was established in 2010 to actively promote cultural exchanges between China and Japan. It successfully hosted the first Chinese art auction in Tokyo in the same year. It was also the first auction house for ancient Chinese art to be held in Japan. It set a record in the Japanese auction industry at the time, attracted much attention, and injected new impetus into the antiques market. Since then, many auctions have been held every year, showcasing ancient and modern Chinese paintings and calligraphy, Chinese porcelain and handicrafts, bronzes, tea ceremony utensils, four cultural treasures, jewelry, and clocks, etc., with remarkable results. Over the past few years, Tokyo Central Auction Company has held more than 10 auctions and held preview exhibitions in Hong Kong, China, Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing. The founder of the Tokyo Central Auction Company is Mr. Ando Shokei. He studied in Japan in high school. He was an early group of overseas Chinese who came to Japan after the reform and opening up. After graduating from college, he ran a trading business. Inspired by his family, he developed a keen interest in Chinese art, so he set up Tokyo Central Auction, determined to host outstanding auctions, actively sponsored and participated in cultural and artistic events, showcased famous Chinese products, and regularly held lectures “Central Tea Party” to promote tea ceremony culture. In an effort to expand the company's auction business in the Hong Kong art market, Tokyo Central Auction Company established Tokyo Central Auction (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. in Hong Kong, China in 2013, and held its first Hong Kong auction at the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong in November 2014.
