Q3 results is actually past performance of the company. One should follow closely the future guidance by the C suite during the earnings calls. That is more important to gauge future performance and price movement of the company.
Nevertheless, macroeconomy plays a big part on predicting the future. Value investors may start cherry picking good value stocks to build long term portfolio.

Firstly is still managing your risks. If existing stocks triggered stop loss, don’t be stubborn. Capital preservation allows you to subsequently recoup losses.
Consider changing strategy. Perhaps take some short positions?
Or pick up long term investment with longer time horizon. Maybe, it’s time to take a break from the market? Take the opportunity to update knowlege on trading/investing.
Regardless, remember rule number 1, risk management! Safe trading

Currently, commodity and energy is the theme. But with raising inflation, do keep an eye for consumer staples and healthcare.
Keep a diversified and well balanced portfolio.

Market moves all the time, it would hard to predict the peak or the bottom. I’ve seen so many stocks that I think has bottom out continue to fall $Palantir (PLTR.US)$ is an example.
Therefore, I manage my risks by making sure I have stop loss order.
Suggest to also manage the emotions that comes with cutting losses. Yes, it’s painful to cut small losses, but it would be even more dreadful when the loses snowball.

One of my first trades taken is long HP on 4 Jan. Market sentiment is still fairly uncertain and I wanted to get into a more solid counter. At the time of initiating trade, $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ uptrend still intact.
Set stop loss around $37.50 and aim...

In an over simplistic way, yes I would agree share prices is propotional to risks, where higher share prices is likely correlating with higher risks.
However, that is only a single dimension perspective. In investing, there might be other reasons to consider. For example, the price may just break out from a range with a good uptrend structure. In that case, I might still take a long position and control my risks by placing stop loss at a reasonable price.
