Human capital management is a form of management that takes human resources as “capital” and maximizes their value, leading to medium- to long-term improvement in corporate value, and has attracted attention in recent years, as listed companies are required to disclose information in securities reports for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023.
The international guideline “ISO 30414” for information disclosure on human capital formulated by the International Organization for Standardization (International Organization for Standardization) is an international index for quantifying, analyzing, and disclosing human capital information about company employees.
We regard human resources as the source of corporate value, and the fact that we are implementing various measures to revitalize employees and organizations, such as implementing group philosophy training and establishing a corporate university “NISSIN ACADEMY,” and the fact that we are focusing on human capital information disclosure were evaluated, which led to the acquisition of this certification.
Furthermore, in line with the acquisition of “ISO 30414” certification, we have published the “Human Capital Report 2023,” which summarizes our group's human capital management efforts in an easy-to-understand manner.
Our group will continue to accelerate human capital management efforts in order to create a work environment where each and every diverse employee can demonstrate their talents and provide opportunities to grow as human beings through work.
* Four companies are eligible for certification: Nissin Foods Holdings, Nissin Foods, Nissin Foods Chilled, and Nissin Foods Frozen.

Specific examples of the Nissin Foods Group's priority strategic themes and initiatives in “human capital management”

(1) Instilling the Group Philosophy
In order to learn about our group philosophy, we conduct experiential training and workplace meetings at the “CUPNOODLES MUSEUM YOKOHAMA.” In addition, employees sell “chicken ramen” face-to-face at retail stores in order to have them think about their responsibilities and roles as people involved in “food” work through direct contact with customers.
(2) Support for autonomous career development
We have introduced a public recruitment system to provide opportunities to apply for desired jobs. Also, in order to make it easier to draw up future career plans, the “Nisshin-ryu JOB Type System,” which clarifies job descriptions in detail, will be introduced starting with managers in 2024.
(3) Human resource development centered on the corporate university “NISSIN ACADEMY”
The corporate university “NISSIN ACADEMY” was established in 2020 to promote voluntary learning among employees. For all employees, we are developing open programs such as hierarchical training and self-development support systems, and selection-type programs for management candidates and department leader candidates. Furthermore, in order to support the growth of subordinates, in addition to regularly holding 1-on-1 meetings with supervisors, we also conduct “challenge goal systems” that encourage voluntary challenges by setting goals themselves, and “growth awareness meetings (human resource review meetings)” where supervisors examine future development policies based on the degree of achievement of challenge goals and the individual's abilities.
(4) Diversity Equity & Inclusion
The Diversity Committee, which consists of personnel department staff and in-house volunteer members, is taking the lead in promoting diversity equity and inclusion so that human resources with diverse strengths and expertise can play an active role. In addition to vigorously implementing initiatives to promote the active participation of women and improve the rate of men taking childcare leave, we are also carrying out activities to increase opportunities for internal exchange for the increasing number of career employees.
