2023 recap: This year, I’ve learnt how to trade options and certain option strategies.
Saw profits and also learned I should try using stop loss to minimise large share drops eg. $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$
Oct 20: Sell 5 Put options at 9.95, Nov 2: Buy back 5 Put options at 8.30
Profit taking: Gross Profit $825, 16%.
Net Profit: $813.18
Costs/Fees: 11.82
Sell put option fees: 6.26 (Coupon Discount on commission 3.25)
Buy back put option fees: 5.56 (Coupon Discount on commission 3.25)

toomanyscammers : sorry, if we sell put,we are thinking that the share will drop soon,by our expiry date...if we buy puts, it means that we think it'll rise? for buying puts, we have to own the share?
CasualInvestor OP toomanyscammers : Concept of put option is flawed. You can lean more about puts and calls from better sources.
A simple explanation in my understanding;
When you buy puts, you pay a premium hoping the price will drop to earn a profit. When you sell puts, you earn a premium with a promise to buy stocks at the strike price.
