10baggerbamm : the IPO price has nothing to do with fundamentals that's number one the IPO price is set by the primary underwriter and or the group of The syndicate underwriters to try to maximize the profits to the company that is the only focus in determining a price and then they try to figure out on the open we're supply meets demand and that's why a lot of times you see a gap up because there's an order imbalance there's a lot of interest that didn't get it as part of the initial funding. part of the IPO. so when a stock breaks its IPO price why is it negative it's negative because those who bought it with the Sol inclination of holding it in perpetuity now have this sickening feeling that they're losing money and they're inclined to dump so it opens up an entire new basket of sellers so to summarize the price of the IPO has nothing to do with the fundamentals it's all about maximizing the revenue for the company they're raising money for
