What lead to the current pump (definitely not influence)?
$Troika Media(TRKA.US$ A very short summary to share of only relavant points for people who have just joined.
It all goes back to the purchase of Converge by TRKA funded by Blue torch with an underlying value of 125m (75M loan, 50M Series E Preferred Shares). What is of interest is the 50M portion (In their April 4th S1 Filing) which is dilutive and what shorts salivate over and pound this ticker to oblivion. The painful part is that the number of shares being released are according to the current price of share in the open market, so the harder the shorts pound it, the more dilutive it is.
During the September 27th ammendment to the S1 filing, is where the trap is getting laid. It provided a clause for the 50M to be buyout instead PROVIDED TRKA have the cash. Investors are still wary as dilution are still possible and Shorts do what they always enjoy doing. The funny part is that the shorts actually double down AFTER TRKA release record earnings on Nov 14th.
The tide turner came when TRKA writhdrawl their S1 filing on Feb 17 which REMOVE dilution from the table. Why would they do that? Chances are, they already have the cash for the buyout due to a good Q4 performance, which can be interpreted by Bluetorch agreement to ammend the loan agreement letting TRKA conduct their payment through a deposit account instead of Bluetorch having control of their operation accounts.
Now when we look at their Q3 Balance Sheet, a very barebone calculation after taking out the liabilities from their assets, factoring in their OS of arond 67Million Shares, we get a value of USD 1.5 PER SHARE. This is not considering that the entire float have been sold short and a liquidity run is going to occur, which is scary in the current economic conditions. Hope this helps with explaining why I personally buy and hold.
