However, the industry predicts that holographic communications, digital twins, immersive cloud XR and so on may become the main business applications of 6G.
It is reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will make every effort to promote 6G innovation and development. Han Xia, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the next step is to consolidate the foundation for the development of 6G with 5G's successful commercial development, deeply analyze and summarize the existing application directions that 5G is difficult to meet, and gradually clarify the potential business scenarios of 6G. guide the formation and improvement of 6G vision requirements.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also accurately grasp the relationship between 5G commercial promotion and 6G research layout, carry out in-depth research on 6G potential key technologies, and optimize the development layout of chips, new materials and other supporting industries.
However, we will not stop studying 5G because of 6G in the future. Zhang Ping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, member of the Advisory Committee of the IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group and professor of Beijing University of posts and Telecommunications, also said that the industrialization of 6G requires a nurturing process and cannot immediately become a commodity that can be used by ordinary people.
