The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to data from the China Bus Statistics Information Network, from January to April 2024, China exported a total of 16,396 large, medium and light buses. Compared with the export volume of 11,738 vehicles in the same period last year, an increase of 39.68% over the previous year. In terms of months, export volume increased month by month in the first three months, reaching the first peak in March. Export volume declined slightly from month to month in April, but it was still higher than the export volume for many months last year.

Among them, in January of this year, bus exports were 3502 units, up 52% year on year; in February, bus exports were 3,702 units, up 258.72% year on year; in March, bus exports were 4,702 vehicles, up 13.11% year on year; in April, 4,490 bus exports, up 5.77% year on year.

Looking at the product structure, from January to April 2024, China exported a total of 10,375 large buses, up 41.1% year on year; 2,797 medium-sized buses surged 174.75% year on year, and the increase continued to expand; total exports of light buses were 3,224, showing a year-on-year decline of 4.25%. Looking at the share table, the cumulative sales volume of large passenger vehicles reached more than 10,000 vehicles, and the increase was still quite strong. The market share rose from 60.25% in January-March to 63.28%; the cumulative sales gap between Chinese passenger cars and light buses in January-April was less than 400 units. Although the sales volume of Chinese passenger vehicles soared, the January-April share narrowed by 0.35 percentage points compared to January-March; in the light passenger market, the January-April share contracted even more significantly, from 22.34% in January-March to 19.66%.

According to functional division, buses are divided into seat buses, bus buses, school buses, and other buses. From January to April 2024, out of the total number of 16,396 buses exported by China, the export volume of seated buses was 9,900, up 43.37% year on year; the export volume of buses was 6103, up 34.99% year on year; the export volume of school buses was 279, up 173.53% year on year; export volume of other buses was 114, down 45.71% year on year. Compared to January-March, the share of seated buses increased from 59% to 60.38%. The share of buses, school buses, and other buses all narrowed slightly, with shares of 37.22%, 1.7%, and 0.7% in that order.

As can be seen from the table below, from January to April 2024, in the six market segments of seat buses and buses, the export volume of large seat buses reached 5,373 units, surpassing the large bus as the highest export model, with a year-on-year increase of 60.87%; the export volume of large buses was 48,76 units, up 24.55% year on year, down half from the increase in January-March; the export volume of light seat buses remained in third place, at 3010 units, down 1.38% from the same period last year; the export volume of medium seat buses was 1,517, a sharp increase of 195.71% year on year; The export volume of medium buses and light buses was 1104 and 123, respectively. The former increased by 128.57%, while the latter remained the same as the previous year.

From an enterprise perspective, bus export rankings for January-April 2024 have changed somewhat compared to January-March. The winning company was still Yutong Bus (600066.SH), with exports of 3,534 vehicles in January-April, up 52% year on year; Zhongtong Bus (000957.SZ) remained second, with export volume of 2,268 vehicles, up 112.76% year on year; Xiamen Jinlong rebounded third, with export volume up 2.79% year on year; Xiamen Golden Travel ranked fourth, with export volume of 1,712 vehicles, down 31.66% year on year; Asia Star Bus and Suzhou Jinlong Haige each rose one place, ranking fifth and sixth. 5.57%; Jiangling Jing Horses ranked 7th, with an export volume of 1,131 vehicles. Although the ranking dropped by two places compared to January-March, it is still a great improvement compared to the same period last year; Foton Ouhui rose two places to 8th place, followed by BYD in 9th place, and Ankai Bus ranked 10th.

The export volume of only three of the top ten companies declined year on year. Among them, the decline in Xiamen Golden Travel was relatively obvious. Of the remaining 7 companies, 4 had a year-on-year increase of more than 100%, namely Zhongtong Bus, Asia Star Bus, Jiangling Jingma, Foton Ouhui, and Ankai Bus (000868.SZ), which increased by 112.76%, 195.57%, 404.91%, 102.07%, and 329.17% in that order.

Among them, the export volume of Zhongtong buses doubled, mainly due to the simultaneous growth of the two major market segments of large-seat buses and large buses; Foton Ouhui's exports doubled, due to the simultaneous growth of large-seat buses and medium-sized buses, which ranked first in the medium bus export volume in the industry in January-April; Jiangling Jingma's export volume soared 4 times, due to the outstanding performance of medium seat buses and light buses, and the export volume of Asian Star buses surged 2 times in the industry; the export volume of Asian Star buses surged 2 times, like China Bus It is also due to the simultaneous departure of large seat buses and large buses Power; the sharp increase in the export volume of Ankai buses is closely related to large buses, medium seat buses, and light seat buses.

In the bus export market from January to April 2024, the export volume of passenger cars was 9,900, a net increase of 2,995 vehicles over the previous year, an increase of 43.37%, outperforming the bus market by nearly 10 percentage points. Among them, 5,373 large seat buses were exported, up 60.87% year on year; 1,517 medium seat buses were exported, up 195.71% year on year; and 3010 light seat buses were exported, down 1.38% year on year. The export volume of light-seat buses alone declined slightly in the first 4 months.

From an enterprise perspective, from January to April 2024, the top ten seater bus exporters were Xiamen Jinlong, Yutong Bus, Zhongtong Bus, Xiamen Golden Travel, Jiangling Jingma, Suzhou Jinlong Haig, Asia Star Bus, Ankai Bus, Foton Ouhui, and Shanghai Shenlong Bus in that order. Compared to the January-March ranking, the seats of the top five companies changed. Xiamen Jinlong maintained the top position. Yutong Bus jumped from fifth to second, with a difference of only 11 cars; Zhongtong Bus remained in third place, while Xiamen Golden Travel and Jiangling Jingma ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Judging from the increase in export volume, Jiangling Jingma increased the most in January-April, adding 899 vehicles from 221 in the same period last year; followed by Zhongtong Bus, which increased exports by 688 vehicles; Yutong Bus and Foton Ouhui increased 468 and 416 vehicles respectively, followed by Shanghai Shenlong, which increased exports by 85 vehicles.

Among them, in the field of large-seat buses, exports from January to April 2024 were concentrated in 9 companies, namely Yutong Bus (1,275 vehicles), Zhongtong Bus (1,145 vehicles), Asia Star Bus (797 vehicles), Xiamen Golden Travel (611 vehicles), Suzhou Jinlong Haige (508 vehicles), Foton Ouhui (434 vehicles), Xiamen Jinlong (433 vehicles), Ankai Bus (153 vehicles), and Shanghai Shenlong (17 vehicles). Yutong Bus exported 494 vehicles in this segment in April, bringing the January-April ranking to the top of the list from the second round in January-March; Foton Ouhui exported 224 vehicles in this segment in April, which raised the January-April ranking from 7th in January-March to 6th. Currently, the sales gap with Xiamen Jinlong is only 1 vehicle.

In the medium seat bus sector, exports from January to April 2024 were concentrated among 13 companies. The top ten companies were Yutong Bus (355 vehicles), Jiangling Jingma (247 vehicles), Ankai Bus (246 vehicles), Zhongtong Bus (171 vehicles), Suzhou Jinlong Haige (160 vehicles), Shanghai Shenlong (101 vehicles), Xiamen Jinlong (92 vehicles), Xiamen Jinlong (56 vehicles), Asia Star Bus (34 vehicles), and Chai Yaxing (30 vehicles). Although the overall export scale of medium-sized passenger cars is not high, compared to the same period last year, all companies increased significantly from January to April this year. The 13 companies in the statistics, with the exception of 1 company, all achieved positive growth: Yutong surged 198%, Jiangling Jingma grew 304.92%, Ankai grew 884%, Zhongtong grew 163.08%, Suzhou Jinlong grew 70.21%, Shanghai Shenlong grew 274.07%, Xiamen Jinlong grew 360%, and Xiamen Golden Travel grew by 47.37%... In the light-seat bus sector, exports from January to April 2024 were concentrated among 11 companies. The top ten companies were Xiamen Jinlong (1,116 vehicles), Jiangling Jingma (873 vehicles), Xiamen Golden Travel (632 vehicles), Suzhou Jinlong Haige (208 vehicles), Ankai Bus (114 vehicles), Zhongtong Bus (45 vehicles), Foton Ouhui (10 vehicles), Weichai Yaxing (7 vehicles), Yaxing Bus (4 vehicles), and Dongfeng Special Vehicle (1 vehicle). Xiamen Jinlong is back at the top of the list. It is the only company that exported more than 1,000 vehicles in this segment in January-April. In addition, Jiangling Jingma ranked second, with a sharp increase of 445.63% year on year, and Ankai Bus surged 2750% year on year. Compared to the large and medium seat bus market, there are not many companies that achieved export growth in January-April in the light seat bus market. There are only three companies: Jiangling Jingma, Ankai Bus, and Weichai Yaxing.

From January to April 2024, China's bus export volume was 6,103, an increase of 34.99% over the previous year, and 16 enterprises achieved exports. Among them, CRRC Electric, Skyworth Auto, Shanghai Sunwin, and Remote New Energy commercial vehicles exported zero in the same period last year, and achieved exports of 144, 55, 26, and 20 vehicles respectively this year.

From an enterprise perspective, from January to April 2024, the top ten bus exporters were Yutong Bus, Zhongtong Bus, BYD, Foton Ouhui, Xiamen Golden Travel, Asia Star Bus, Suzhou Jinlong Haig, Xiamen Jinlong, Ankai Bus, and CRRC in that order. Yutong Bus remained the champion, achieving positive sales growth of over 60% in January-April; Zhongtong Bus, which ranked third in the passenger bus sector, achieved good results; BYD ranked third, Foton Ouhui ranked fourth, and Xiamen Golden Travel ranked fifth; the remaining five companies all achieved positive year-on-year growth. Among them, Asian Star Bus exports soared 378.57%. The ranking rose from 8th place to 6th place in January-March. Ankai buses surged 16 times, and CRRC all had a net increase of 16 times.

Among them, in the field of large buses, from January to April 2024, the top ten exporters were Yutong Bus (1,793 vehicles), Zhongtong Bus (850 vehicles), BYD (526 vehicles), Yaxing Bus (383 vehicles), Xiamen Jinlong (350 vehicles), Suzhou Jinlong Haige (285 vehicles), Foton Ouhui (196 vehicles), Xiamen Golden Tour (162 vehicles), and CRRC Electric (109 vehicles). What is attracting attention is Asian Star Bus. The export volume was only 33 vehicles in the same period last year, and the export volume reached 383 vehicles in January-April this year, a sharp increase of 1060.61%; Ankai's growth was also quite strong. The export volume for the same period last year was only 12 vehicles; in January-April this year, the export volume reached 194 vehicles, a sharp increase of 1516.67% over the same period last year. Overall, in the bus export sector, large vehicles account for about 80%, yet the five companies Yutong, Zhongtong, Yaxing, Xiamen Jinlong, and Ankai account for more than 90% of large vehicles.

In the medium bus sector, from January to April 2024, the top ten exporters were Foton Ouhui (310), Xiamen Jinlu (250), BYD (166), Yutong Bus (90), Suzhou Jinlong Haige (74), Zhongtong Bus (57), Skyworth (53), CRRC Electric (30), and Shanghai Sunwin (20). Among them, Foton Ouhui won the championship, and exports soared 192.45% in January-April; Xiamen Golden Travel also achieved a year-on-year sharp rise in this market segment. There were only 6 vehicles in the same period last year, and reached 250 vehicles in January-April this year, ranking second, with a sharp increase of 4066.67% over the previous year. The top ten other companies are also basically dominated by sharp year-on-year growth, such as Yutong surged 136.84%, BYD surged 62.75%, Hagrid surged 64.44%, etc.

Judging from the data, from January to April of this year, in the bus export market, Yutong Bus maintained the advantage of the strong player Yu Qiang, and its export volume grew strongly, accounting for more than 21% of the bus export market. Among them, the share of seat buses exceeds 16%, ranking second in the industry; the share of buses and buses is close to 31%, ranking first in the industry. The performance of the three companies Zhongtong Bus, Jiangling Jingma, and Ankai Bus from January to April this year was quite surprising, and their export volume soared year over year.

Looking at the month alone, Foton Ou Hui performed very well in April, exporting 378 vehicles, doubling the cumulative export volume in January-April; BYD's exports also rebounded sharply, with exports of 317 vehicles in April, a further increase compared to January-March. On the basis of high sales volume in the same period last year, the much-publicized Jinlong “Sanlong” showed a slight decline over the same period last year, but its position in the industry is still very high. The total export volume of “Sanlong” reached 4,995 vehicles in January-April, accounting for more than 30% of the total share.
