The US stock market rebounded. The Dow average closed at 38,239.66 dollars, which rose 153.86 dollars, and the NASDAQ rose 316.14 points to 15,927.90.

It rose after coming close to purchases that were favorable to major high-tech enterprise financial results announced after closing yesterday. Although the March core PCE price index, which the Federal Reserve (Fed) places importance on as an inflation indicator, exceeded expectations, there were no alarmed results, and purchases that favored the decline in long-term interest rates also intensified, and the market remained steady throughout the day, led by high technology. The increase was extended until the end of the game, and it was over. By sector, while media/entertainment, semiconductors/manufacturing equipment rose, insurance weakened slightly.

Alphabet (GOOG), which operates the search company Google, exceeded expectations due to cloud growth contributed by AI (artificial intelligence) in quarterly financial results, and announced additional stock repurchases and cash dividend commencement plans, and continued growth. The software manufacturer Microsoft (MSFT) was also boosted by strong AI demand, and sales and profits exceeded expectations in quarterly financial results, and rose.

The pharmaceutical company Pfizer (PFE) rose when the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the company's bleeding disorder treatment drug. The photo/video sharing application SNAP (SNAP) has financial results, and the sales forecast for the 2nd quarter exceeded expectations due to strong sales in the advertising business, and rose. Shoe manufacturer Sketchers (SKT) raised its full-year earnings forecast in addition to profit for the first quarter exceeding expectations, and was bought. The oil and natural gas production company Exxon (XOM)'s adjusted earnings per share fell below expectations in the first quarter financial results. The outlook for the second quarter of the semiconductor Intel (INTC) was poor, and was sold.

The VIX Index, which shows investors' fears, fell to a level of 14.92 in the middle of this month.
