Nissan unveils 4 new energy concept cars at Beijing Motor Show

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa-ken; President: Makoto Uchida) unveiled 4 new energy vehicle (NEV) concept cars at the Beijing Motor Show 2024, and announced that 5 NEVs, 1 more model than previously announced, will be introduced to the Chinese market by 2026. At the Nissan booth, in addition to concept cars, we will be exhibiting a full lineup of electric vehicles equipped with the latest electrification technology.

Makoto Uchida, president and CEO of Nissan, said, “In order to achieve sustainable growth in rapidly changing China, Nissan will work on a strategy optimized for the Chinese market, as announced in the new management plan “The Arc.” Starting with new energy vehicles developed based on concept cars unveiled today, we will build a well-balanced product lineup by introducing a variety of highly competitive new cars. And we will continue to provide a more exciting mobility experience for each and every one of our Chinese customers.”

The concept car unveiled this time is a two-model electric vehicle (EV) and a two-model plug-in hybrid (PHEV), aiming to meet the future mobility needs of Chinese customers.

The Nissan Epoch Concept is an EV sedan for active people who enjoy driving in cities and suburbs and want to improve their lifestyle with the latest design and technology. This car is equipped with IoT enhanced by AI, and realizes a more comfortable life through emotional communication with virtual personal assistants.

The Nissan Epic Concept is an EV SUV perfect for urban couples who enjoy weekend adventures, and is capable of autonomous driving both in the city and on highways. It is possible to supply electricity to various devices, campgrounds, and parties, and the numerous built-in technologies create a relaxed atmosphere.

The “Nissan Era Concept” is a car for young business people who think of cars as their second home. This plug-in hybrid SUV features an interlocking entertainment system and zero gravity seats. With the advanced E-4orce and active air suspension, you can enjoy a comfortable and secure drive.

The Nissan Evo Concept is a plug-in hybrid sedan with advanced driver assistance technology and safety performance, perfect for weekend trips and creating special memories for the whole family. In addition, virtual personal assistants whose functions have been expanded with AI support what you want to achieve through driving.

Other cars on display

At this year's Beijing Motor Show, the EV concept cars “Nissan Hyperforce” and “Nissan Hyperpunk,” which were exhibited at the Japan Mobility Show last year, will be unveiled for the first time in China.

The Nissan Hyper Force combines high environmental performance with everyday comfort while pursuing ultimate driving pleasure. It's the perfect car for racing enthusiasts and gamers who are looking for excitement on the circuit while also being environmentally conscious.

“Nissan Hyper Punk,” which is displayed digitally, stimulates self-expression in the virtual and real worlds. In addition, optimal music and lighting are automatically selected according to the driver's mood as read by AI or headrest biosensors, enhancing vitality and creativity.

Furthermore, the Nissan Formula E Gen3 machine, which is competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, will also be exhibited, showing Nissan's advanced EV technology while delivering a sense of excitement unique to EVs to more fans and customers.
