The Zhitong Finance App learned that lithium battery stocks fell collectively. As of press release, Ganfeng Lithium (01772) fell 4.77% to HK$21.95; China Airlines (03931) fell 2.68% to HK$13.06; and Tianqi Lithium (09696) fell 2.62% to HK$35.35.

According to the news, on April 17, Yabao held a tender for the sale of about 100 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate. The final result was 107,000 yuan/ton, a decrease of 4.3% from the April 2 tender price of 111,800 yuan/ton. Okoshi Futures pointed out that recently, salt lake manufacturers are shipping at high prices, inventory levels are low, and overseas auction prices have rebounded. At the same time, domestic mica prices have rebounded, and the price gap for electricians has narrowed. Yabao's latest lithium mine auction discount will put some pressure on the spot.

Xinhu Futures pointed out that with the gradual arrival of lithium carbonate in Chile in Hong Kong and the gradual resumption of production at the Jiangxi lithium salt plant, the supply of lithium salt is still loose. In the long run, the pattern of serious oversupply and demand for lithium carbonate throughout the year has not changed, but in the short term, there is an opportunity for a mismatch between supply and demand. There is still some room for fermentation on both sides. Combined with tight short-term spot liquidity, there is some support for lithium prices. It is expected that there is limited room for short-term lithium prices to decline, but considering the pessimistic consensus in the medium to long term market, the rebound is limited.
