10x Genomics Insiders Sold US$3.6m Of Shares Suggesting Hesitancy

Simply Wall St ·  Apr 5 09:49

Over the past year, many 10x Genomics, Inc. (NASDAQ:TXG) insiders sold a significant stake in the company which may have piqued investors' interest. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At 10x Genomics

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, James Wilbur, sold US$619k worth of shares at a price of US$42.09 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of US$35.74. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.
