This AnaptysBio Insider Reduced Their Stake By 27%

Simply Wall St ·  Mar 28 08:32

Viewing insider transactions for AnaptysBio, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:ANAB ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net sellers. This means that a larger number of shares were sold by insiders in relation to shares purchased.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At AnaptysBio

Notably, that recent sale by Daniel Faga is the biggest insider sale of AnaptysBio shares that we've seen in the last year. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$21.38. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign.

Does AnaptysBio Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Insiders own 3.7% of AnaptysBio shares, worth about US$21m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
