Journey Medical Independent Director Acquires 45% More Stock

Simply Wall St ·  Mar 27 06:29

Potential Journey Medical Corporation (NASDAQ:DERM) shareholders may wish to note that the Independent Director, Justin Smith, recently bought US$104k worth of stock, paying US$3.47 for each share. That's a very solid buy in our book, and increased their holding by a noteworthy 45%.

Journey Medical Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The Executive Chairman Lindsay Rosenwald made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$223k worth of shares at a price of US$2.23 each. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of US$3.69. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Happily, we note that in the last year insiders paid US$728k for 264.04k shares. But they sold 75.91k shares for US$128k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Journey Medical insiders. The average buy price was around US$2.76. We don't deny that it is nice to see insiders buying stock in the company. However, you should keep in mind that they bought when the share price was meaningfully below today's levels.
