The startup Lighttricks released LTX Studio, an AI-driven video generation and editing software on March 1, 2024. Channel companies, content production, IP and marketing companies are expected to benefit.

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Guotai Junan released a research report saying that the startup Lighttricks released LTX Studio, an AI-driven video generation and editing software, on March 1, 2024. It includes a complete set of tools for video production, including automatic scripting tools, scene control tools for adjusting multiple cameras, tools to ensure character consistency, camera control, and one-click editing. This kind of AI tool in the video production workflow can help improve the efficiency of film and television content production while reducing the cost of all aspects.

Video production workflows are expected to benefit profoundly from AI efficiency improvements. The core of LTX Studio is to empower every aspect of video generation based on AI video models. After the user enters a prompt in LTX Studio, the app first divides the prompt into numerous sub-lenses, each about a few seconds long, and then links the sub-shots to generate a complete video. Users can enter commands to change the scene, change the style, adjust the weather, set and change the location, etc. With the lens editor provided by LTX Studio, you can also rename lenses and adjust settings including video effects, amplitude of motion, camera angle/shift, duration, and character dialogue. In addition, users can also change the character's image and appearance through independent character tags. The optimization of the video production process makes up for the defect that AI video models generate content for a short time, so that the application of AI to video content generation has a more substantial effect.

Expectations for AI video implementation are strong, and UGC content has already benefited. On February 26, 2024, CCTV broadcast the AI-assisted animation “Ode to a Thousand Autumn Poems”, marking the beginning of large-scale broadcasting of content generated by AI video tools in China. The impact of the AI video model on the film and television industry includes two aspects: 1) For PGC content, the core is to reduce costs and improve efficiency and profoundly change the entire process of film and television production. However, due to terminal regulatory factors such as licenses and audits, content directly generated by AI still needs to be processed by professional institutions before it can reach the screen. 2) As far as UGC content is concerned, many AI short films at home and abroad have recently received high attention and broadcast volume. Relatively relaxed content quality and broadcast controls have made UGC content the first to benefit from the development of AI video tools.

Channel companies, content production, IP, and marketing companies are expected to benefit. 1) Channel: The supply of high-quality content has entered a stage of rapid growth, and channel companies' voice is expected to further increase; 2) Content production: It is hoped to improve content production efficiency while reducing costs. 3) IP: At this stage, targets with dominant IPs can use AI models to generate various content formats, and at the same time hope to enjoy the dividends of IP value added. 4) Marketing: The generation of short video advertising material benefits the most.

Risk warning: The development of AI video models falls short of expectations, and there are regulatory risks for film and television content.
