Minsheng Securities: The robot industry entered the era of embodied intelligence. 24 years have been a year of acceleration in the development of humanoid robots

Zhitong Finance ·  Feb 27 02:00

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Minsheng Securities released a research report saying that “the next wave of artificial intelligence is physical intelligence” at the ITF World Conference in 2023, and that the robot industry has entered the era of embodied intelligence. The core driving force that brought the robotics industry into the era of embodied intelligence is the breakthrough progress of big models. Currently, large models have strong generalization capabilities and emerging capabilities that drive many manufacturers to try to use big models to train intelligent products and accelerate the expansion of the field of humanoid robots. The bank believes that 2024 will be a year of acceleration in the development of humanoid robots, and the efforts of tech giants in the robotics industry are expected to lead the development of the industry. It is recommended to focus on industry leaders such as sensing and AI modules: Guanghetong (300638.SZ) and Yiyuan Communications (603236.SH).

Minsheng Securities's views are as follows:

Event: On February 24, 2024, Nvidia established the General Intelligence Research Laboratory (GEAR).

Minsheng Securities's views are as follows:

Nvidia established GEAR and officially entered the field of embodied intelligence.

On February 24, 2024, Nvidia announced the establishment of the General Intelligence Research Laboratory (GEAR). Led by Dr. Jimfan and Professor Yukezhu, GEAR aims to build a basic model of embodied intelligence in the virtual and real world. GEAR's research agenda is divided into four areas: (1) multi-modal basic models, (2) general robots, (3) basic agents in virtual worlds, and (4) research on simulation and simulation data. The establishment of GEAR Labs marks the official entry of tech giant Nvidia into the field of embodied intelligence, which is expected to lead the development of the industry.

The robot industry has entered the era of embodied intelligence, driving the development of humanoid robots.

In 2023, Hwang In-hoon stated at the ITF World Conference that “the next wave of artificial intelligence is physical intelligence,” and the robot industry has entered the era of embodied intelligence.

FigureAI, a humanoid robot startup, received US$675 million in financing, and giants such as Nvidia, Microsoft, and OpenAI participated.

On February 23, EST, Bloomberg reported that humanoid robot startup FigureAI has raised about US$675 million in a new round of financing. The financing attracted participation from tech giants including Nvidia (50 million US dollars), Microsoft (95 million US dollars), OpenAI (5 million US dollars), Samsung, LG, and Amazon founder Bezos. The formal agreement is expected to be signed on February 26. Recently, FigureAI signed an agreement with BMW to deploy and test humanoid robots at the BMW factory. Recently, tech giants have gradually deepened their layout on humanoid robots, and 1xTechnologies, supported by OpenAI, completed Series B financing of more than 100 million US dollars; Musk sent another Optimus video showing significant progress in the walking speed and stability of humanoid robots. We believe that humanoid robots are gradually becoming a new field where technology giants are scrambling to lay out, and 2024 will be a year of acceleration in the development of humanoid robots.

The GTC2024 conference was full of stars, and 25 robots will be on display.

Nvidia will host the GTC2024 conference from March 18 to March 24 at the San Jose Convention Center. At that time, Hwang In-hoon will present the latest breakthroughs in the fields of accelerated computing, generative AI, and robotics. At the conference, leading global robotics companies such as AgilityRobotics, Boston Dynamics, Disney, and Google DeepMind will be exhibiting 25 robots on site.

Risk warning: Market competition intensifies; development of new robot products falls short of expectations; policy support is not as strong as expected risk.
