Gelonghui, Feb. 21 | China Securities International (00943.HK) announced that according to the preliminary review of the Group's latest unaudited comprehensive management accounts for the six months ended 31 December 2023 (“first half year of 2023/24”) and the information currently available to the board of directors, the Group expects to record a consolidated loss of HK$680 million to HK$720 million for the six months ended 31 December 2022 (“First half of 2022/23”).
The increase in losses was mainly due to (i) reduced earnings from property development and health and household goods businesses; (ii) impairment losses on associated companies' equity and affiliate receivables; (iii) impairment losses on properties to be sold during project development in Nanjing (“properties under development”); and (iv) increased financing costs.
