GCL Technology (03800.HK): Inner Mongolia Xinhuan officially put into production 100,000 tons of granular silicon
GCL Technology (03800.HK) announced that the 100,000 ton granular silicon project of Inner Mongolia Xinhuan Silicon Energy Technology Co., Ltd., an indirect subsidiary of the company, was officially put into operation on September 21, 2023, and the output quality fully met the production requirements of N-type products.
The Hohhot site is the company's fourth granular silicon production base after Xuzhou, Leshan, and Baotou. Construction of the project officially began on November 21, 2022. The total construction period was 10 months, setting a record for the fastest construction speed of a 100,000-ton polysilicon project in the world. With the continuous optimization of the granular silicon modular system, it is expected that after the Hohhot base project reaches production, the effective production capacity will reach 120,000 tons, and the upper limit of the effective production capacity of the stock project base will continue to rise; along with the iteration of the 20,000 ton granular silicon module to 60,000 ton module, it will further reduce the investment cost per unit of polysilicon production capacity, set a new record for polycrystalline silicon manufacturing costs, and push the photovoltaic industry to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
