Great News for Encompass Health Corporation (NYSE:EHC): Insiders Acquired Stock in Large Numbers Last Year

Simply Wall St ·  Feb 23, 2023 07:21

Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Encompass Health Corporation (NYSE:EHC), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Encompass Health

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Independent Director Gregory Carmichael bought US$100k worth of shares at a price of US$54.67 per share. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (US$61.48), we still think insider buying is a positive. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.
