Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Veritone, Inc. (NASDAQ:VERI) Independent Director, G. Graziadio, recently bought US$55k worth of stock, for US$7.30 per share. Although the purchase is not a big one, increasing their shareholding by only 2.3%, it can be interpreted as a good sign.

In fact, the recent purchase by Independent Director G. Graziadio was not their only acquisition of Veritone shares this year. Earlier in the year, they paid US$15.76 per share in a US$117k purchase. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$6.90 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.

Veritone insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. The average buy price was around US$12.79. What Might The Insider Transactions At Veritone Tell Us?

The recent insider purchase is heartening. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions.
