Fueled by vigorous Chinese financials, the HSI magnified the gains persistently to peak at 28,128. It last stood at 28,113, up 325 pts or 1.2%, on turnover of $64 billion.

Blue chips thrived broadly. In particular, TENCENT (00700.HK) shot up 2.6% to $571. It rose for three days and once peaked at $572.

Banks and insurers ascended by approximately 1%-3%. CCB (00939.HK), ICBC (01398.HK), BOC HONG KONG (02388.HK) and PING AN (02318.HK), being the top gainers, last posted at $5.63, $4.54, $26.1 and $72.75.

BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), with stake further cut by Himalaya Capital, and GEELY AUTO (00175.HK), slipped over 4% and 2% to $211.2 and $24.2.

Chinese consumers MENGNIU DAIRY (02319.HK) and HENGAN INT'L (01044.HK) faded over 1.5% and 4%.
