Don't Ignore The Insider Selling In Acushnet Holdings

Don't Ignore The Insider Selling In Acushnet Holdings

Simply Wall St ·  2023/11/30 05:11

We wouldn't blame Acushnet Holdings Corp. (NYSE:GOLF) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Steven Pelisek, the President of Titleist Golf Clubs recently netted about US$1.1m selling shares at an average price of US$57.10. That sale reduced their total holding by 22% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

Acushnet Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Acushnet Holdings

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the President, David Maher, sold US$4.0m worth of shares at a price of US$57.20 per share. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$57.10. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign.
