According to an opinion poll released by NBC on Aug. 22, local time, 48% of people disapproved of Biden's work as president, an increase of 9 percentage points from the April poll.
The decline in Biden's public support is related to the surge in confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the United States and Biden's handling of the withdrawal of U. S. troops from Afghanistan.
The vast majority of those surveyed said they did not approve of the way President Biden handled the current situation in Afghanistan, while only 25 percent agreed with his handling.
Fifty-three percent agreed with the way the president responded to the COVID-19 epidemic. Compared with the April poll, the proportion is down 16 percentage points. (CCTV reporter Liu Xiaoqian)
