On April 25, Wei Brand New Energy, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor, brought the All-Blue Mountain Smart Driving Edition at the Beijing Auto Show. It is the first mass-produced model with Great Wall's most advanced intelligent technology.

Tan Jian, executive deputy general manager of Wei Pai, admits that the Blue Mountain Smart Driving Edition carries the mission of implementing Great Wall Motor's intelligent strategy. The advent of Coffee Pilot Ultra advanced intelligent assisted driving and the Coffee OS 3 smart space system has brought the intelligent performance of the Blue Mountain Smart Driving Edition to the first level in the industry.

Liu Yanzhao, CEO of Weipai, believes that with the homogenization of new energy products, if they want to be favored by users, they need to work hard on the user experience. This is reflected in aspects such as the fluency of the smart cockpit system and the breadth of coverage of smart driving solutions.

As Great Wall Motor's latest generation intelligent driving assistance system, Coffee Pilot Ultra not only enables 100% removal of high-precision maps, but also uses a fully integrated parking system. It has functions such as cross-floor memory parking and automatic parking, making it “easy to drive and stop anywhere”.

In terms of smart cabins, the Blue Mountain smart driving version of the Coffee OS 3 smart space uses AI and large models in depth. Users only need to use their wrist to complete a series of instructions in the car.

Liu Yanzhao revealed that next, the Great Wall NOA cities will be liberalized one after another starting in August. After Blue Mountain, it will also be ported to Takayama, and there will also be simplified versions for models such as mocha and lattes. In addition to the Wei brand, urban NOA models such as the 400, 500, and 700 tanks will also be launched one after another starting at the end of the year.

Furthermore, in terms of power, following the first Hi4 four-wheel drive electric hybrid technology in the Weipai Alpine four-wheel drive executive extended version, Weipai New Energy will successively be equipped with Hi4 intelligent four-wheel drive electric hybrid technology on models such as the Blue Mountain Smart Driving Edition, the new Mocha, and the new Latte.

While being more intelligent, the Great Wall Weipai can also accelerate the entry into the electric four-wheel drive era.

This is also a suggestion from Great Wall Motor after China's NEV 2.0 era, when competition has turned to deepening technological rivalries such as electric four-wheel drives.

In order to cope with increasingly fierce market competition, Great Wall Motor has also made many changes in internationalization and channel changes. Recently, even Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motor, went to the fray to test the smart driving features of the Blue Mountain Smart Driving Edition on a live broadcast. Q: Does Weipai plan to use smart driving technology as its main brand label in the future?

Liu Yanzhao: Society is developing, and technology is progressing. In 2024, Great Wall Motor will transform intelligence and technology, or be all in intelligence. Essentially, today's new energy products are homogenized, and they need to be favored by users in terms of user experience.

In terms of hardware integration, it is not simply a matter of spending on stacking costs, but rather making it more intelligent and user-friendly at the vehicle level. In the future, Weipai also plans to introduce AI and big models, so that cars can understand users like life assistants, be more caring, and more user-friendly.

Today, with homogenous competition, Wei Pai's intelligent experience also includes NOA. NOA's technical architecture is a truly non-high-precision all-scenario solution, and can cover various driving scenarios such as highways, urban areas, and townships. You can drive it wherever you go, and it's easy to stop wherever you go.

Q: I learned that Great Wall has a dual channel model. What are Weipai's recent initiatives to promote the overall improvement of the Great Wall brand?

Liu Yanzhao: Regarding the development of Weipai New Energy, Great Wall adopted a systematic strategy to return to its peak. Weipai New Energy has always been at the forefront of the industry in terms of products and technology. Since this press conference and Mr. Wei (Wei Jianjun) livestreamed the city NOA a few days ago, Great Wall showed NOA's underlying support for the first time, including the Kyushu Supercomputing Center and the end-to-end technology architecture. We did a comprehensive demonstration from technology to product on the Blue Mountain Smart Driving Edition.

In terms of new products, Wei Brand will also accelerate the new Mocha and the new Latte to be equipped with the Hi4 power system. All Hi4 technology will be launched within the year, fully entering the electric four-wheel drive era.

Regarding sales channels, Great Wall will consider laying out direct management channels. Direct management and distribution channels are currently in a complementary state. Direct management channels not only enhance brand exposure, but also cover markets that cannot be reached by distribution channels, such as supermarkets, and other emerging markets. This model will also enable Great Wall Motors to more closely connect terminals and real users to gain an in-depth understanding of the market and user feedback.

Q: How does Weipai ensure the safety and reliability of NOA technology in various scenarios?

Liu Yanzhao: When it comes to smart driving, Wei Pai still insists on technical redundancy and backup. The Kyushu Supercomputing Center, SEE, the first integrated smart driving model in China, and radar and corresponding hardware configurations all use redundant ideas to ensure safety and reliability.

Chairman Wei Jianjun also mentioned during the live broadcast — no safety, no smart driving. Every year, the Great Wall can accumulate basic data through data return and professional data collection. The original data volume exceeds 100 PB, and the cumulative actual user driving mileage exceeds 200 million kilometers, providing massive data support for model training; in data return, the Great Wall updates screening strategies in real time, and uses large cloud models for effective data mining and automated data labeling, efficiently purify effective data, and can also achieve scene generation and scene simulation. By generating dangerous, rare, and extreme scenarios, solutions can be simulated and verified for massive dangerous driving scenarios, further improving model iteration efficiency.

In this process, Great Wall will also carry out data masking to better protect users' privacy. Currently, a total of 20 PbS of effective data has been generated. This is the Great Wall's smart driving safety strategy.

Q: What is the current status of Weipai's overseas export progress and planning?

Liu Yanzhao: Europe is Weipai's earliest target market for globalization. It first entered Germany. Although the EU currently has some regulations and restrictions on Chinese new energy vehicles, this does not prevent Wei brand from receiving high praise from everyone after delivery and delivery in Europe. Weipai has a P2+P4 architecture in Europe, which also includes Great Wall Motor's forest ecosystem, which can match more adaptable technical routes for different target markets.

Weipai directly competes with BBA brands in European pricing. The price range ranges from 40,000 euros to 60,000 euros. Among Great Wall Motor sub-brands, Weipai New Energy should be said to be a pioneer in new energy and intelligent technology. Internally, it is positioned as Great Wall's highest-end technology-enabled brand, so Weipai's entry into the global market also represents a new level of GWM technology and product experience. Recently, some of Weipai's products have also landed in Central Asia and been to the Middle East. Next, Blue Mountain and Takayama will also be sent to the world. Some time ago, the first batch of Takayama was exported to Dubai, which received widespread praise, and will continue to be exported later.
