Collaborate with ABEJA and Hulic to improve the functionality of the “Bizflex App” and implement it in earnest in all buildings

ABEJA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Okada Yosuke; hereinafter “ABEJA”) collaborates with Hulic Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Takaya Maeda; hereinafter “Hulic”) and is currently using the flexible office “Bizflex by HULIC” (hereinafter “Bizflex”) developed by Hulic We are pleased to announce that we have improved the functionality of the platform application (hereinafter “Bizflex App”) and introduced it in earnest to all 5 buildings.

ABEJA and Hulic signed a capital and business agreement in November 2021. ABEJA will continue to cooperate strongly with Hulic as a business strategic partner to support DX in the office rental business centered on BizFlex, which Hulic is working on.

In the future, ABEJA and Hulic will more accurately grasp the usage status and needs of each tenant from various data obtained through office DX, and work to develop and improve services leading to improvements in tenant convenience and work efficiency.

ABEJA has a management philosophy of “implementing a spacious world,” and is developing a “digital platform business” that transforms the core business processes of client companies based on the “ABEJA Platform,” and continues to achieve business profit growth. We have been promoting research and development on the ABEJA Platform since our establishment in 2012, and until now, we have realized digital transformation in a wide variety of industries and business categories on the ABEJA Platform. ABEJA's business model is a digital EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Service) based on the ABEJA Platform and undertakes processes necessary for DX with full management services. By adopting a digital version of EMS, customers will be able to utilize cutting-edge “manufacturing machines” and “manufacturing know-how” that can handle all processes required for DX. This enables faster implementation than in-house development and maintenance, and enables continuous use of the latest technology, cost reduction, risk avoidance, and enhancement of capabilities.

The Bizflex series is a medium-sized flexible office that is “easy to rent and easy to return,” combining a highly safe building in a good location in the center of the city with a flexible new rental method that reduces the burden on tenants associated with moving in and out. Currently, 5 buildings have opened in Azabujuban, Roppongi, Tokyo Yaesu, Hamamatsucho, and Kanda, and are highly praised by startup companies. Going forward, we aim to supply around 3 buildings per year in locations close to train stations in the main office area in central Tokyo.

In response to the recent decline in the working-age population and changes in office needs associated with the spread of new ways of working, Hulic believes that it is necessary to support improved convenience and work efficiency for tenants with high value-added services utilizing advanced technology such as DX and AI, and developed the BizFlex application, which is a service provision platform, in collaboration with AbeJA.

The “Bizflex App,” which ABEJA supports development, is an application provided by Hulic to Bizflex residents. From the past, digital services such as standard implementation of unlocking using face recognition, shared facility reservation systems linked to cloud calendars, agency-free guest reception systems, seat reservation systems, and functions that enable mutual use between Bizflex locations have been provided sequentially, improving convenience for Bizflex users.

ABEJA and Hulic are now installing “smart key devices” in shared facilities such as conference rooms and phone booths as a new function of the “Bizflex App,” and have fully introduced a mechanism for managing usage into the Bizflex series. This leads to unauthorized use of shared facilities and prevention of trouble between users, and makes it possible to use conference rooms etc. more comfortably.

Going forward, ABEJA and Hulic will continue to expand the functionality and introduction of the “Bizflex App,” and will collaborate and utilize various data obtained from offices to develop and improve services that contribute to improving convenience for tenants and improving office operation efficiency.

ABEJA will continue to actively incorporate the latest technology, select the optimal state of affairs for client companies from a variety of options, promote the use of generative AI in business, and support problem solving and cost-effective DX for client companies.
