Market Trend

Hong Kong stocks started Wednesday slightly lower following a healthy two-day run-up, with Wall Street providing a tepid lead though energy firms were given a lift by another surge in oil prices.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.18 per cent or 53.36 points to 29,414.64.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 1.61 points to 3,626.33, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange was also marginally higher, gaining 1.09 points to 2,430.66.

$HSBC Holdings plc(00005.HK)$and $AIA Group Limited(01299.HK)$ stumbled 1% and 1.9%. $Tencent(00700.HK)$ and $JD.com, Inc.-SW(09618.HK)$ rised around 2%.

EVERG Services mulls placing at 12.3% discount to pocket $2.65B

$Evergrande Property Services(06666.HK)$'s shareholder would place 270 million shares at $9.8 each, representing a 12.34% discount to yesterday's closing price $11.18, pocketing $2.646 billion as Bloomberg cited sales documents.

Up to 190 million more shares can be placed in addition, meaning the Company may cash in as much as $4.508 billion.

HKD2.7B southbound trading net Inflow to MEITUAN-W

For Southbound Trading of Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, $Meituan-W(03690.HK)$ was the most active stock with highest net inflow of HKD839.4 million, while $XIAOMI-W(01810.HK)$ was the most active stock with highest net outflow of HKD438.4 million.

For Southbound Trading of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, MEITUAN-W was the most active stock with highest net inflow of HKD1.9 billion.
