23 years ago four doctors explained why my husband needed a heart double lung transplant. 28 months later he received his Gift of Life after a huge battle with his health plan in 2001. My husband got laid off in early 2008 and was on dialysis five years before receiving a kidney transplant. We went from two vehicles to no vehicles and had to get an attorney to appeal for social security/Medicare benefits. Through it all I have worked a full time job. 33 years as a Allied Healthcare worker the last 7 in a fortune 100 company. So many hours of overtime since 2020 but grateful to be employed. My husband and I both have bachelor's degrees and had a difficult time getting that start in the professional world back in the mid 80s. My career path could have happened without college really. I paid my way with no student loans. My husband borrowed and a few years back he got a letter that he would be garnished if he ever went back to work! $1,500 from 1986. College students in debt six figures and they didn't go to medical school... they're never going to get out from that! Credit cards on college campuses given out right and left. No financial education for our young people. Honestly I have little to none either! BUT my husband is alive and we continue forward! Never take good health for granted family. I need to say thank you Moe. The past few years I have learned so much from you and the others of the Core Four. What I have learned about the Market, Economics and Finance has been life changing. This message has shown me I am not alone. Know you are changing lives even if you never hear all the stories. Thank you for letting me share - Kathy in Arizona
