Since news broke that billionaire Elon Musk will be taking over $Twitter (Delisted)(TWTR.US)$, there's been an outpouring of mixed reactions.
Musk has stated intentions to take Twitter private once his takeover of the firm is complete, saying that he wants to make the social network "a platform for free speech."
Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter has sparked a complete media meltdown
Several members of the media have been sounding the alarm about Musk's growing involvement with Twitter.

The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post has been relentlessly attacking the Tesla CEO over his acquisition of Twitter. On Wednesday, the paper whose slogan is "Democracy Dies in Darkness" published a pair of reports ratcheting up its attacks on the Tesla CEO.

The Post published a piece titled, "Elon Musk's vision of 'free speech' will be bad for Twitter." In it, tech investor and former Reddit CEO Ellen K. Pao bashed the billionaire's bought-in "welcome" to Twitter, calling it "highly disconcerting — a slap in the face, even."

The irony of The Washington Post publishing Pao's remark calling for "regulation of social media platforms to prevent rich people from controlling our channels of communication" was not lost among critics, who pointed out that the paper is owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos.
Even Musk himself was in on the joke.
"Lmaooo," Musk reacted to the op-ed excerpt.

MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC also spread fear over Elon Musk Twitter deal, describing Musk as "Free speech of straight white men."

Bloomberg Opinion senior columnist and MSNBC political analyst Tim O'Brien called the move "bad news" for free speech.
MSNBC political analyst Anand Giridharadas compared Musk's investment towards Twitter to "arsonists cosplaying as firefighters."

Mooers, is Elon Musk's takover a good news or bad news for you? Any thoughts on free speech? Will you stay or leave Elon Musk's Twitter?
