Changes to China Connect Trading for Mainland Investors

Starting from July 24, 2023, China mainland investors will not be able to buy any China Connect securities, including subscription for right issues (For details, see HKEX Circular). However, they can still sell the China Connect securities they currently hold. 

Mainland investors include individuals holding mainland ID documents (i.e., ID card, passport, etc.), but do not include Chinese citizens who have obtained an identity document as proof of permanent residence outside mainland China. If you fulfill the requirement, kindly contact customer service to provide relevant proof of permanent residency outside mainland China.
