Instant Buying Power (IBP) provides a quick and easy way to start investing before your ACH deposit arrives, available exclusively with a Margin Account.
When you use IBP, you won't be charged any interest fees. If you have a margin loan when you receive IBP, the amount of IBP you receive will be automatically used to offset an equal amount of the margin loan that bears interest.
To check your maximum IBP available, go to Accounts > Deposit > Deposit via ACH > Instant Deposit.
1. If your account's net assets are 0, your maximum IBP will be $1,000.
2. If your account's net assets are greater than 0, you may be eligible for a maximum IBP of up to $10,000, depending on the value of your net assets.
Your IBP will automatically expire if your ACH deposit arrives or after 7 business days.
To manage risk, IBP is limited to trading US stocks and participating in US IPOs. It cannot be used for trading options or other products.
If your ACH deposit is rejected by the bank after you receive IBP, it may be considered a breach of contract. This could lead to penalties, such as being barred from using IBP or having your maximum IBP reduced.
