Hyundai autos signed their first electric bus supply contract in Japan.
Hyundai Motor Company announced on Tuesday that it has reached its first commercial electric bus supply agreement in Japan. The company said it signed a letter of intent to sell five electric buses to Iwasaki Group, a transportation and tourism operator headquartered in Kagoshima Prefecture in southwest Japan, last Thursday in Tokyo. According to the agreement, Hyundai plans to offer five electric city buses by the first quarter of next year. This is the first time Hyundai has supplied electric buses to Japan. Hyundai's electric buses will operate on Yakushima Island, designated as a World Natural Heritage site by UNESCO, in southern Japan.
