I don't think you understand... they are tethered if BTC went to 9 dollars ETH would be 1. If BTC goes to 100k ETH will be 30k. So if you are buying ethereum, you want to know if BTC up or down. There are maybe 3 or 4 that don't follow BTC movements. ETH is not one of them. What they are for doesn't matter. It's on BTC's chain.

The BTC ETF was designed to get holders back on the same system they were supposedly trying to break away from. With other alternatives I believe it is due to be replaced. Something happened in 2020.
