Geely to build robotaxis for Waymo

Zhejiang Geely Holding will build a fleet of electric autonomous taxis for Waymo, the self-driving unit of Google parent Alphabet, the automaker said on Wednesday. Geely and renault to join forces

Renault and Geely are said to be very close to signing a joint venture agreement that would allow the latter to start manufacturing vehicles in South Korea, with the possible end goal of exporting them duty-free to the United States. The joint venture has not been signed yet, but it is reportedly very close to being made official, after talks began early in 2021.
Report that the joint venture will soon be officially announced, possibly along with a new brand. Renault will reportedly handle the design of the new vehicle, which is rumored to be built on the CMA platform, as well as marketing and sales in China. Geely also wants to start building the Lynk & Co 01 crossover at the Renault-Samsung plant located in the industrial city of Busan, in South Korea. This vehicle is available with regular gasoline-burning, hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains, and it looks like Geely wants to build the first two in Korea and set up local part supply chains to make everything work.
The French giant has not been present in China for over a year now and it would be its way of reentering the massive Chinese market, or just a way of getting a better foothold in that part of Asia. Right now, neither of the two manufacturers has said anything about the deal, but they are expected to officially announce their partnership soon.

Shorting Geely?

Hey guys, Let me know your thoughts of me shorting $GEELY AUTO(00175.HK)$ if it goes back to retest the graphical horizontal resistance which aligns with the resistance of the ichimoku cloud and 50% Fibonacci retracement at 24.6. I'm thinking it will respect the resistance there and drop to 21.35 where the next swing low is and I'll have my stop loss probably slightly above the swing high resistance at 27.05 area.

What do you think of GEELY Auto ?

Hey all ! Check out $GEELY AUTO(00175.HK)$ , I see price reacting in between a descending channel. Price is currently in the middle of the channel, I am expecting price to make a short-term bullish bounce from the potential pivot level in line with horizontal support, 61.8% Fibonacci projection and 127.2% Fibonacci extension towards the potential take profit level in line with 100% Fibonacci projection and 50% Fibonacci retracement. My short-term bullish bias is further supported with the RSI indicator where we can expect to see a bounce at the ascending trendline support.

Potential Take Profit level @ 24.8
Potential Pivot level @ 21.5
Potential Stop Loss level @ 20.45

Chinese auto giant geely launches electric truck

China's Geely on Monday launched a new electric semi truck as automakers look to bring new technology to the commercial vehicles market. Geely’s commercial vehicle group, Farizon Auto, is planning to roll out the new Homtruck in 2024 and is targeting international markets too. Geely's Homtruck launch comes as a number of automakers Geely's Homtruck launch comes as a number of automakers from Mercedes owner Daimler to Warren Buffet backed BYD have annouced their own electric trucks. Tesla, one of the biggest player in the EV market which has annouced its own truck called SEMI in 2017 which has delayed production of that vehicle for sometime.
- The homtruck will have different power options including methanol hybrid or pure electric.
- The homtruck is built with autonomous driving in mind. Geely claimed that the vihicles will be able to use partially autonomous driveless features. Trucks will be able to communicate with each other to maintain safe speed and distance in longer journeys
- Geely hopes to have some partial driveless features by 2023 and achieve full autonomy in 2030.
Automakers are dealing with surge in the prices of raw materians and a global shortage of semiconductors. Hoever the EV sector remains a hot and competitive field. With big names such as tesla. BYD and nio competing for market share internationally. Be sure to keep a look out for Geely as its goal for autonomous driving is extremely ambitious and yet full of endless posibilities. It look to further its horizon by looking to expand internationally will be sure to bolster its brand and reputation.
