Gansu Bank Co., Ltd. is a commercial bank engaged in corporate banking business. The company and its subsidiaries mainly operate three business departments. The company's banking department provides financial products and services, including loans, discounted bills, deposits, and products and services such as fees and commissions. The main corporate customers of this department mainly include government departments and institutions, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises. The financial markets business unit issues debit cards denominated in renminbi to retail customers who hold the bank's savings accounts. The retail banking division provides retail customers with financial products and services, including loans, deposits, bank card services, and fee and commission products and services.
In view of the fact that there was no provincial legal person city commercial bank in Gansu Province at that time, in order to promote the economic development of Gansu Province, the people's Government of Gansu Province decided to establish a provincial legal person city commercial bank on the basis of Baiyin City Commercial Bank and Pingliang City Commercial Bank. Therefore, on May 30, 2011, representatives of 25 legal entities (including large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises in Gansu Province and private enterprises inside and outside Gansu Province) and all shareholders of Baiyin Commercial Bank and all shareholders of Pingliang Commercial Bank signed the sponsor Agreement of Dunhuang Bank Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, 25 legal entities contribute in currency, and all shareholders of Baiyin Commercial Bank and Pingliang Commercial Bank contribute with the assessed net assets of Baiyin Commercial Bank and Pingliang Commercial Bank. Jointly initiated the establishment of Dunhuang Bank Co., Ltd. On August 24, 2011, the General Office of Gansu Provincial people's Government approved the change of the name of the proposed bank from "Dunhuang Bank Co., Ltd." to "Gansu Bank Co., Ltd.". On September 27, 2011, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission approved the establishment of the Bank. On November 18, 2011, the Gansu Banking and Insurance Regulatory Administration approved the opening of the Bank and approved the transformation of Baiyin Commercial Bank, Pingliang Commercial Bank and its branches into Baiyin Branch, Pingliang Branch and its branches respectively. On the same day, the Bank was issued with the Business license of Enterprise legal person issued by Gansu Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce, and the Bank was formally established in accordance with the Company Law of China. The Bank is the only provincial legal person city commercial bank in Gansu Province.

The Bank has established its principal place of business in Hong Kong at 40th floor, Sunshine Centre, 248 Queen's Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong, and was registered as a non-Hong Kong company under part XVI of the companies Ordinance on 28 June 2017. We have appointed Ms. Fok Po Yee as the agent for receiving process and notices in Hong Kong on our behalf. The address at which we receive process in Hong Kong is the same as our principal place of business in Hong Kong.
Since the Bank was established in China, its corporate structure and articles of association are subject to the relevant laws and regulations of China. The Bank conducts banking business in China under the supervision and regulation of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and the people's Bank of China. The Bank is not an authorized institution as defined in the Banking Ordinance, is not subject to the supervision of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and is not allowed to carry on banking and / or deposit-taking business in Hong Kong.
The Bank's H shares were listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on January 18, 2018.
