CNOOC was incorporated in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“Hong Kong”) in August 1999 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (“Hong Kong Stock Exchange”) (stock code: 00883) on February 28, 2001. In July 2001, the Company's stock was selected as a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Index. On April 21, 2022, the Company's RMB shares (hereinafter referred to as “A shares”) were listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (“Shanghai Stock Exchange”) (stock code: 600938). On June 19, 2023, the Company added a RMB counter (stock code: 80883) to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company is the largest offshore crude oil and natural gas producer in China and one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production enterprises in the world. Its main business is the exploration, development, production and sale of crude oil and natural gas. Currently, the company has the Bohai Sea, the western South China Sea, the eastern South China Sea, and the East China Sea in the Chinese Sea as its core regions, and its assets are distributed throughout Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Oceania and Europe.
