The Company is a limited liability company established on November 5, 1999 in accordance with the “Company Law of the People's Republic of China” (the “Company Law”) during the restructuring process of China National Petroleum Corporation (now changed to China National Petroleum Group Co., Ltd., “CNPC” for short before and after the change). The Group is the largest producer and seller of oil and gas, which dominates China's oil and gas industry. It is one of the largest companies with the largest sales revenue in China, and one of the largest petroleum companies in the world. The Group's main businesses include exploration, development, production, transportation and sales of crude oil and natural gas and new energy business; refining of crude oil and petroleum products, production and sale of basic and derivative chemical products, other chemical products and new materials business; sales and trading of refined products and non-oil products; and gas transportation and sales business. The American Depositary Shares (“Depositary Shares”), H shares and A shares issued by the Company were listed on the New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”), Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited (“Hong Kong Stock Exchange”) and Shanghai Stock Exchange on April 6, 2000, and November 5, 2007, respectively.
