Rainbow Group Electronics Co., Ltd. was incorporated in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, China on September 10, 2004. It was established by Rainbow Group Corporation, a subsidiary of the State Council's State-owned Assets Administration Commission, at the cost of assets and shares related to display devices. The company's H-shares were listed and traded on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on December 20, 2004 (stock code: HK0438). The company is the birthplace of China's first color imaging tube and China's first liquid crystal glass substrate. It is also China's leading manufacturer of solar photovoltaic glass and light-emitting materials. In recent years, the company has transformed from the traditional color imaging tube industry to new industries such as solar photovoltaic glass, new electronic chemical materials, and liquid crystal glass substrates. The company has a registered capital of 2,232 billion yuan. Its main production bases are located in Xianyang, Hefei, Zhangjiagang, Zhuhai, Kunshan and other places. It currently employs more than 6,000 people and has 11 first-tier holding subsidiaries (including an A-share listed company: Rainbow Co., Ltd., code: SH600707, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in May 1996). At the end of 2012, the restructuring plan between Rainbow Group Corporation, the controlling shareholder of the company, and China Electronics Information Industry Group Co., Ltd. (“China Electronics”) was approved by the State Council's State-owned Assets Administration Commission, and Rainbow Group Corporation was merged into China Electronics as a whole through a free transfer. After the restructuring with China Electronics, in the context of restructuring and integration and collaborative industrial development, the company's various businesses had a new and larger platform, and the company's development ushered in new opportunities.
