The Group was restructured in 1989 and the holding company was renamed “Hong Kong Ferry (Group) Limited”. Other properties The Group has a warehouse site in Yuen Long to be used as an investment property. Ferries, shipyards and related businesses The Group has been operating ferry services locally for over 90 years. The passenger ferry business was suspended in January 2000 due to the transfer of local ferry licences. Only five vessels were reserved to provide dangerous goods transport and Victoria Harbour tour services. The Group is located in Tsing Yi North Shipyard, covering an area of about 200,000 square feet, and provides ship maintenance services and civil engineering services. The shipyard has one of the largest and most advanced synchronous lifting vessels in Hong Kong. It has a lifting capacity of 3,000 tons and can lift all types of ships, including workboats, ferries and yachts. The shipyard has a flexible ship transfer system that can accommodate the upper row of ten ships at the same time. Tourism business Hong Kong Yau Ma Tei Tourism Co., Ltd. provides a full range of travel services including local tours, Chinese tours, overseas tours, ferry and train tickets, and hotel booking. Hong Kong Yau Ma Tei Tourism Limited has branches all over Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and Macau, China.
