6. Paper Trading Rules

  1. Tradable Products: Only U.S. stocks, ETFs, and options are tradable in this competition. Other instruments are not supported.

  2. U.S. Market Trading Hours: Pre-market, regular, and after-hours trading are supported (4:00 AM – 8:00 PM ET).

  3. Account Settings:

  • Initial account balance: USD 100,000.

  • Margin trading and short selling are supported.

  • Long position initial margin rate: 50%; maintenance margin rate: 40%.

  • Short position initial margin rate: 60%; maintenance margin rate: 50%.

  • Short selling interest: 6% annualized.

  • Margin financing interest: 4.8% annualized.

  • Interest is charged after market close daily.

  1. Order and Position Restrictions: To ensure professionalism and fairness in the competition:

  • Trading in stocks priced below USD 1 is restricted.

  • Trading in stocks and options of companies with a market capitalization below USD 500 million is restricted.

  • Maximum of 200 executed orders per day (excluding cancellations and modifications).

  • Maximum of 100 positions held at a time.

  • The maximum position limit per stock is 40% of total assets. If the limit is exceeded due to price movement or option exercise, this restriction will not apply.

  1. Risk Control Rules: During trading hours, if the account’s remaining liquidity falls below zero, forced liquidation will be triggered.

  2. Option Exercise Rules: After market close, any in-the-money (ITM) options expiring that day will be automatically exercised. If sufficient funds are available, the corresponding underlying assets will be bought or sold. If funds are insufficient, the system will execute all possible buy or sell actions, then perform forced liquidation on excessive positions as required by margin rules. Out-of-the-money (OTM) options expiring that day will expire worthless. Index and stock options will use the market close price on the expiration date as the settlement price.

  3. Corporate Actions: Only dividends, stock splits, reverse splits, and ticker symbol changes are supported. If a listed company is delisted for any reason, participants will not be able to trade that stock afterward. The system will credit virtual funds equal to the last closing price to the participant’s competition account on the second business day.

  4. Order Matching Rules: The paper trading system simulates actual market trade-by-trade volume. Even if the order price meets the condition, it will not be executed if no matching trade volume exists. If the real market trade volume × 20 is smaller than the order quantity, partial execution will occur based on available volume, and the remaining order will remain in the queue until matched.

  5. Fees: a. Stocks

  • Commission: USD 0

  • Platform fee: USD 0.99 per order

  • Transaction activity fee: USD 0.000166 per share, capped at USD 8.30 (applies to sell orders only)

b. Options

  • Commission:

    • Option premium > USD 0.10: USD 0.65 per contract

    • Option premium ≤ USD 0.10: USD 0.15 per contract

  • Platform fee: USD 0.30 per contract

  • Transaction activity fee: USD 0.00279 per contract

  1. Competition Settlement: Competition results are based on closing prices during regular market hours on the final day. The value of exercised options expiring on that day will be included in the final ranking. Trades made during after-hours on the final day will not count toward competition results. Weekly return data is based on prices as of Friday 10:00 PM (ET).

  2. Revival Card: If a competitor’s virtual assets are insufficient to place a simulated buy order, they may use a “Revival Card” item to restore their initial virtual funds. Each user may use one Revival Card per competition only.

  3. Tie-breaking Rule: If multiple users have identical return rates, ranking will be determined by the order of registration time.

  4. Disqualification: Participants who gain profits through cheating or exploiting system vulnerabilities will have their results and eligibility revoked.

  5. System Source: The trading simulation system is provided by moomoo. If there are discrepancies between the simulated and actual markets, the simulation results shall prevail. The simulation system is free to use; any fees deducted are purely virtual and involve no real expenses.

7. Disclaimer

By participating in the above event, you are deemed to have agreed to the following terms and conditions set forth by Moomoo SG (the “Organizer”):

  1. The paper trading competition account is purely a virtual account and may only be used to simulate the trading of U.S.-listed stocks, ETFs, stock options, ETF options, and index options.

  3. The content and design of the paper trading competition account are the property of the Organizer. Participants may not alter, modify, adapt, imitate, or change any part of it in any manner.

  4. Participants acknowledge and agree that the Organizer may display or use their usernames, avatars, moomoo app accounts, total returns, holdings, and trading information, as these are relevant to the paper trading competition.

  5. All trades executed through the paper trading competition account are virtual in nature. Orders entered by participants are not transmitted to or executed on any actual exchange (including but not limited to the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, or American Stock Exchange). Such virtual actions create no settlement or payment obligations for either the participant or the company. Securities trading services provided by the company, and any rights or obligations associated with them, do not apply to transactions made in the virtual competition account.

  6. Certain information displayed in the paper trading account (including stock quotes) is provided by third parties. The Organizer makes no representation, warranty, or commitment regarding the accuracy or completeness of such information, and shall not be liable for any losses or damages, whether direct or indirect, arising from the use of or reliance on such information.

  7. The Organizer reserves the final right to determine how returns in the competition accounts are calculated, the list of prize winners, and the prize distribution. Participants may not dispute any such decisions.

  8. If the Organizer determines that a participant has engaged in cheating or fraudulent behavior, it reserves the right to disqualify the participant and invalidate the results. If any top-three participants are found to have cheated, their prizes will be revoked and awarded to the next eligible participant in the ranking. The Organizer also reserves the right to pursue legal action if such misconduct causes losses to the Organizer.

  9. This includes harm caused by computer viruses or malicious programs.

  11. Some prizes are provided by third-party merchants (including items redeemed in the Points Mall). Once a prize has been claimed, it cannot be returned or exchanged. Prize use is subject to the merchant’s terms and conditions. Recipients are responsible for all applicable taxes, fees, surcharges, and/or customs duties. If there are any issues with a prize, recipients should contact the relevant merchant directly. The Organizer bears no legal responsibility for such matters.

  12. Event rewards are distributed strictly according to the rules. Participants who do not meet eligibility criteria may not claim rewards by any special means. The Organizer reserves the final right to determine and adjust reward distribution.

  13. If any prize is provided directly by the Organizer, its use is subject to the terms and conditions published by the Organizer for that specific reward.

  14. Before redeeming stock cash rewards, winners must have an all-in-one trading account with moomoo in the relevant market to receive such rewards.

  15. Rewards have specific expiration dates. Failure to claim or use rewards within the designated timeframe will result in forfeiture, and the participant will be deemed to have voluntarily waived eligibility.

  16. The Organizer reserves the right to modify or cancel the event process, rules, prizes, and related information as necessary, and will notify participants as soon as possible. The Organizer retains full interpretation rights over these event rules and the authority to amend rules or procedures, including but not limited to addressing system issues or loopholes.

  17. If the event cannot proceed normally for any reason (such as interruption or early termination), the Organizer reserves the right to make appropriate adjustments and handle affected trades accordingly. Participants may not dispute such decisions.

  18. The Organizer may, at its discretion, reference participants’ achievements and personal information in any promotional or advertising materials related to the event, including (but not limited to) using participants’ names, likenesses, or voices, unless prohibited by law, without requiring prior approval.

  23. Each user may participate using one account, one phone number, and one device only. Any abnormal activity (including but not limited to using mobile emulators or altering device information) may result in automatic disqualification or suspension from the promotion.

  24. This offer is limited to one reward per new account, and each individual may register for only one account.
